Spring clean at Tollcross
Week of action improves neighbourhood
A week in March was dedicated to an intensive period of partnership activity around the Central Tollcross area.
From 22 to 26 March, attention was given to the streets around Home Street, Lauriston Place and the Meadows.
The aim was to not only make the area cleaner, greener and safer, but also to raise awareness of the services provided by the Council, Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service and Lothian & Borders Police.
Activities during this week included high-visibility patrols, trade waste inspections and advice, fly-posting and graffiti removal, a dog fouling initiative, concentrated street cleaning and crime prevention surveys.
