Masterplan for North Sighthill unveiled

Affordable homes

The Council has been working with urban architects Broadway Malyan to produce a final masterplan for the regeneration of North Sighthill.

This project is part of the 21st Century Homes for Edinburgh Programme which will see the redevelopment of North Sighthill, Pennywell and Muirhouse and Gracemount.

It will contribute to delivering 16,600 affordable homes in Edinburgh over the next ten years.

Members of the public have helped shape the masterplan for North Sighthill, while local organisations have also had their say. The North Sighthill Residents Association, community council, library, community centre, shop owners, Edinburgh Tenants Federation,

Police and the medical centre all took part in the various consultations. Edinburgh Napier University, Stevenson College and the Council’s Parks and Culture and Sport teams also contributed.

The masterplan, proposing up to 320 houses and community facilities, was submitted to planning in April. Half of the new homes will be affordable new homes, while the other half will be for market sale.
