New phase of recycling incentive to begin

In December, the Council is giving you yet another reason to recycle as the third phase of our novel recycling incentive scheme gets under way.

The scheme has already been welcomed by householders who received rewards during the first two phases for using either a local recycling point or their kerbside collection boxes.

Now residents will be able to help charities, when they recycle at each of the city’s three Community Recycling Centres. This will help the centre to achieve its recycling target, which will result in a donation to a local charity and a “feel-good factor” for all users.

The fourth and final stage of the incentive scheme is planned for the spring, when gardeners can win new tools if they recycle using their brown bins.

So use our recycling services during the festive period and put this top of your to-do list. In fact, why not make recycling a New Year’s resolution – and you or a local charity could be a winner.
