Residents priority parking scheme

News in brief

Part-time parking initiatives aimed at helping residents park closer to their homes are being proposed over the next two years.

The priority parking scheme introduces controls for short periods of time in areas where residents have problems parking due to commuters and non-residents using available space.

Under the scheme, a limited number of permit places will be made available for residents and tradespeople on weekdays.

This will make it easier for residents and those making deliveries to access properties.

Permit-holders will also be able to purchase visitors’ permits for their guests.

Following consultation with residents, South Grange is the pilot area for the scheme.

South Morningside is the next area under consideration.
