Usher Hall dazzles with five-star rating
The Council’s Usher Hall has become the only concert hall in Scotland to receive a five-star award for excellence from VisitScotland.
The rating was awarded following anonymous visits to the Usher Hall by VisitScotland inspectors, who praised the venue’s exceptional facilities, acoustics and the customer service provided by its staff.
That dedicated team will be on hand this festive season to ensure the programme of winter delights runs smoothly, too.
The events the hall will play host to in the coming weeks include:
- Children’s Classic Concerts – Christmas Swingalong (4 December). Sing along to Disney classics while the sensational saxophones, brilliant brass and rocking rhythm section of the RSNO Big Band set your toes tapping.
- Kate Rusby at Christmas (5 December). Songs from her newly released Christmas album While Mortals Sleep and a mix of seasonal songs featuring traditional carols.
- The Pirates of Penzance (28 December). Orphaned pirates, flat-footed policemen and a bevy of blushing maidens are the ingredients of this much-loved masterpiece, starring Alistair McGowan.
- John Kitchen (6 December).Edinburgh’s much-loved city organist, John Kitchen will be playing the world-famous Usher Hall organ.
