New community plans
Improving communities
In September, the South Neighbourhood launched its two new local community plans.
More than 2,000 local people told the neighbourhood partnerships what their top priorities were for improving their communities over the next three years.
It is these decisions that will help to influence where money is spent to improve your local services.
It is now the job of the Partnerships, which include the Council, NHS Lothian, the Police, the voluntary sector, and the community, to make sure that action is taken to make a real difference.
The selected priorities for improvement cover a wide range of issues that affect the quality of life for local residents.
Liberton and Gilmerton:
- Positively engage young people
- Improve employment opportunities for the community
- Tackle health inequalities
- Better and safer communities.
South Central:
- Better services for older people
- Improve the environment
- Better services for young people
- Improve community safety
- Improve the quality of life in Dumbiedykes.
Your views are central to the continued success of the Partnerships, as is your involvement.
